SIOUX CITY -- Carl L. Snyder, Jr., 67, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011.

Carl was born Aug. 9, 1943, in Corpus Christi, Texas, the son of Carl Sr. and Mary (Campbell) Snyder. He was educated in San Diego, Calif. Carl enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served from 1961 to 1963, deployed with the 815th Civil Engineering Squadron.

Children from Carl's first wife were David and Danny. During 1985, he married Beverly Rinehart and they moved to Colorado. Carl worked many years as a traffic control supervisor before retiring and moving to Sioux City Iowa in 2006.

Carl enjoyed working in his garage, making many gifts for his family and friends. He also loved cooking out and attending family barbecues. Carl was known to enjoy an occasional drink with his many friends at Steinbeck's.

Carl is survived by his wife, Beverly; two sons, David and Danny; Danny's three children, Jonathan, Austin and Jennifer; his stepchildren, Randy and his wife, Darsi, Mick and his wife, Jacque, Kimberly, Judy and her husband, Paul, Jennifer and her husband, Karl; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; his mother, Mary Marinda; and one sister, Carol Snyder.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carl L. Snyder Sr.; and his stepfather, Angel Marinda.
