ANTHON, Iowa -- Donald K. Paulsen, 74, of Anthon died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. today at Trinity Lutheran Church in Anthon, with the Rev. Andrew Carlson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service today at the church. Armstrong Funeral Home of Anthon, Iowa, has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Donald Kermit Paulsen was born in Anthon, Iowa, on Oct. 17, 1936, to John P. and Helen M. (Hinds) Paulsen.

He married Margie Jane Peterson on May 1, 1972. He worked primarily as a tractor mechanic and farmer.

Don loved tractors and the outdoors. He enjoyed participating in area tractor pulls. He was an avid inventor all of his life, designing and building custom tractors and other machines.

Survivors include two sons, Dennis Paulsen and his wife, Lilly, of Des Moines and Don Paulsen of Ames, Iowa; three grandchildren, Damien, Latasha and Zachary Paulsen; and one sister, Mary Paulsen, of Sioux City.

Don was preceded in death by his brother, John Paulsen; his parents; and his grandparents.
