SIOUX CITY -- Guy E. Johnson, 49, of Milton, Fla., formerly of Sioux City, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, in Tampa, Fla.

Abiding by family wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial services, with military honors, will be held 5 p.m. Tuesday, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Kathy Martin officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the services Tuesday at the funeral home.

Guy was born on Sept. 20, 1961 in Huron, S.D., to Bob and Janice (Pranschke) Johnson. He graduated from North High School in Sioux City with the class of 1981. Guy enlisted with the U.S. Air Force in 1981. During his service, Guy was awarded numerous decorations, including the NCO Professional Military Education Graduate Ribbon with one oak leaf cluster, the Longevity Service Award with one oak leaf cluster, and the Air Force Good Conduct Medal with two oak leaf clusters. Guy was serving in Alaska until his honorable discharge in 1992.

When Guy and his family moved from Alaska, they returned to Sioux City. Guy was employed at Gateway before starting his own business, Diversified Technology Solutions (DTS). He had recently moved his company to Cantonment, Fla., and was in Tampa on business when he passed away.

He loved the outdoors, enjoyed fishing and camping along with his passion in photography and music. Guy was extremely devoted to his sons. He will always be remembered for his great smile.

Guy is survived by his sons, Alex R. Johnson of Spearfish, S.D., Ross M. Johnson of Sioux City, and Kyle A. Johnson and his fiancee, Alma Jessica Gonzalez of Sioux City; along with their mother, Karen (Hutmacher) Johnson of Sioux City; parents, Bob and Janice Johnson of Sioux City; biological sister, Glenda Johnson-Vollmer of Arkansas City, Kan.; siblings, Randy Johnson and his wife, Jean of San Antonio, Texas, Peggy Terry and her husband, Norris of Allen, Neb., Evan Johnson and his wife, Marilyn of Akron, Iowa, Darcy Heaton of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Toby Johnson of Sturtevant, Wis.; and granddaughter, Fay Natalie Johnson of Sioux City.
