.MOVILLE, Iowa -- Coral E. McCune, 89, of Moville died unexpectedly Thursday, March 21, 2002, at a Sioux City nursing home.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Moville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Harold E. Werley officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Township Cemetery in Moville. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Christy-Smith McCulloch Chapel in Moville.

Mrs. McCune was born April 1, 1912, in rural Moville, the daughter of John Earnest and Carolena Henrietta (Jensen) Dockweiler. She had been a resident of the Moville and Bronson areas all of her life.

She graduated from Moville High School in 1930 as class valedictorian. She obtained her teaching certificate in 1930, and was a teacher from 1930 to 1934. In the fall of 1934, she started school at Methodist School of Nursing in Sioux City, graduating in 1937. She was a nurse from 1937 to 1946.

She married Ernest Wayne McCune on Dec. 30, 1945, in Moville. She was a farm wife until retiring in 1975.

She was a member of Moville United Methodist Church, Woodbury Farm Bureau and the Republican Party. She enjoyed board games, picture puzzles and playing the piano.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Loren W. McCune of Moville; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Laura Epling, Lillian Solberg, Elsie St. Peter and Goldie Campbell; and two brothers, Ernest Dockweiler and a brother in infancy.
