SIOUX CITY -- Mary L. Weltz, 64, of Sioux City died Monday, Aug. 23, 2010, at Countryside Nursing and Rehab Center following a lengthy illness.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with the Rev. Daniel Guenther officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Mary was born June 19, 1946, in Sioux City, the daughter of John and Dorothy (Cornwell) Lemek. She grew up in Sioux City and attended Heelan High School.

She married Gordon "Mike" Weltz on Aug. 3, 1963, in Elk Point, S.D.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She enjoyed crafts, golfing and gardening. The most important part of her life was her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Gordon "Mike" Weltz of Sioux City; four children, Lora Lynn Arnold of Fort Wayne, Ind., Michael Weltz and his wife, Jodie of Sioux City, Racquel Beaubien of Sioux City and Kelly Weltz and his wife, Sarah of Sioux City; five brothers, Rich Lemek of Davenport, Iowa, John Lemek of Omaha, Joe Lemek of Sioux City, Bob Lemek of Omaha and Jim Lemek of Fort Madison, Iowa; two sisters, Paulette Berger of Des Moines and Barb Bohan of Sioux City; and nine grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Pallbearers will be Chad Bohan, Bart Miller, Josh Weltz, Michael Weltz Sr., Kelly Weltz and Michael Weltz Jr.
