SIOUX CITY -- Timothy Evan Spindler, 50, of Sioux City joined his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Aug. 18, 2010, after a brief battle with kidney cancer.

Please come help us celebrate his life. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Torey Lightcap officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Tim was born on March 14, 1960, in Sioux City, to Clemens and Betty (Shadbolt) Spindler. He graduated from West High School in 1978, and then went on to Morningside College and earned his BA in music and business administration.

Tim was a loving and dedicated father to his five children. He had a great love for music and the arts. He had great hopes of one day becoming an opera singer when he studied at Morningside, but fell in love with Dana Gilbert and began their family of five. Tim worked for various pharmaceutical companies as a representative for 21 years and was considered a jack of all trades because he sold life insurance and at one time owned a mortgage company. He recently went back to school and was in the process of earning an associate's in respiratory therapy.

Tim was an active member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, where he served on the vestry. He was a former member of the Elks Club. He was a devoted and loving father and friend. His love extended far beyond his immediate family. He had many friends and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Tim accepted everyone and made everyone feel they were the most important person in his life.

Survivors include his parents, Clemens and Betty of Sioux City; his brother, Christian of Sioux City; his children, Blythe, Evan, Margee, Denise and Theo, all of Sioux City; and his special friends, Paula Hamp of Sioux City, Laurel Lundy of Sioux Falls, S.D., Bill and Shelly Posey of Sioux City and Julie Young of Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Denise Hope Spindler; his grandparents, Chris and Mabel Spindler and Grace and Roy Shadbolt.

Memorials may be directed to the parents of Tim Spindler for the benefit of his children's education.
