SIOUX CITY -- Kathleen Marie (Dougherty) Conroy, 82, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Sioux City, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010, at Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting, Iowa.

Abiding by her wishes, the body has been cremated. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Sloan, Iowa, with the Rev. Richard Moore officiating. Visitation with the family will be 6 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff.

Kathy was born Feb. 2, 1928, in Sioux City, the daughter of William and Gladys (Hartwell) Dougherty. She graduated from Central High School in 1946.

On April 23, 1952, she was united in marriage to Robert Thomas Conroy. She was employed by the Sioux City School District for many years and was also a hospice volunteer for more than 20 years. After retirement, she and Robert moved to Mesa, where they lived until his death in 2005. After Robert passed away, she moved to the care center in Whiting.

Kathy is survived by her daughters, Beth and her husband, Greg Hillen of Broomfield, Colo., and Diane and her husband, Randy Beltz of Sloan; six grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years; her parents; and her brother.
