SIOUX CITY -- Diane K. Harper, 61, of Sioux City passed away Monday, Aug. 9, 2010, in Sioux City.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. today at the Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, with the Rev. Dan Fisher of Southern Hills Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Online condolences may be sent at mohrfuneralhome.com.

Diane was born Jan. 29, 1949, in Sioux City, the daughter of Arthur and Violet (Keller) Thomas. She was raised by her grandparents, James and Ramona Thomas. She attended Sioux City Public Schools and lived in Sioux City all her life.

She married Dick Harper. To this union two sons, Casey and Curtis, were born. She spent the last 20 years of her life with her life partner, Larry Smith.

Diane enjoyed housework, gardening, watching movies and decorating for holidays. She also enjoyed spending time with, and having get togethers with, friends and family. She especially loved her cat, Precious.

Survivors include her life partner, Larry Smith of Sioux City; two sons, Casey and Curtis Harper of Sioux City; a brother, Douglas Keller of Sioux City; an aunt, Marlene (Bud) Cleary of Indianapolis, Ind.; uncles, Paul (Sharon) Thomas of Loveland, Colo., Ed (Laura) Thomas of San Antonio, Texas, Wally (Maxine) Thomas of Camp Verde, Ariz.; a nephew, Brian Keller of Sioux City; and a niece, Kriste Anderson of South Sioux City.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents; sister-in-law, Sherry Keller; and uncles and aunt, Joe Thomas and Jesse (Jean) Thomas.
