13 October 2010SIOUX CITY -- William Warren "Bill" Gibson, 76, formerly of Sioux City died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010, at a hospital in College Station, Texas.
Bill requested that his body be donated to Med Cure for organ research. A memorial service will be at a later date.
Bill was born in Sioux City on July 12, 1934, to LeVerne and Margaret (Carver) Gibson. He attended schools in Sioux City and graduated from East High School.
He married Patricia Jonas on Feb. 12, 1955. Bill and Pat lived in several states while he was employed in a management position with K-Mart. They retired to College Station, Texas, to be near family.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Pat; five children, Barbara (Russell) Winckler of College Station, Michael (Tina) of Sugarland, Texas, Steven of Houston, Texas, Connie (Kevin) Hawes of Salem, Ore., and Dianna of Fresno, Calif.; nine grandchildren, Roger, Dennis, Nicholas, Amanda, Coleen, Jacob, Joshua, Scott and Ashley; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Phyllis (Bob) Keithley of Lenexa, Kan., and Bobbi (Dick) Mesmer of Sioux City; and Bill's in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Walt Jonas of Sioux City.
He was preceded in death by his parents, LeVerne and Margaret Gibson.
