SIOUX CITY -- Christine Ann Jenness, 47, of Sioux City went to be with God in heaven on Oct. 21, 2010, at her home followin a courageous battle against cancer.

Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, 101 East Main St., in Vermillion, S.D., with the Rev. Elmer "Sandy" Aakre officiating. Condolences may be posted online at www.koberfuneralhome.com.

Christine was born Jan. 22, 1963, in Sioux City, to Kenneth and Winona (McIntosh) Harris. Christine graduated, with honors, from Vatterott College in 2010 with an associate of art degree as a certified medical assistant. She worked at Gateway for five years, then became an employee of Hy-Vee Food Stores for 15 years. She job took her to Lake Ozark, Mo., and Omaha. Christine moved back to Sioux City for the duration of her illness.

She was always full of life and laughter, and loved spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Her love for life made her cherish all the sunrises and sunsets. She also enjoyed fishing and being outdoors.

Christine leaves behind her husband, Randy Jenness; children, Jeremy (Amy) Johnson, Don Johnson and Joslyn Bulizak; stepchildren, Angie (Scott) Herman, Blake (Rheanna) Jenness and Taylor Jenness; 10 wonderful grandchildren; brothers, Harry (Marcia) Harris, Rick (Judy) Harris and Mike Harris; and sister, Cindy (Brad) Harris.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Winona (Midge) Harris; and her brother, Ronnie Harris.

She will be greatly missed by all, but with prayer and the love that she left behind, we will meet her again in heaven. Chris's compassion and unselfishness for life continues on as she donates her body to the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine after the funeral service for scientific research to help find a cure for cancer and polycystic kidney disease, with which she was afflicted.
