SERGEANT BLUFF -- Ann K. Routon, 62, of Sergeant Bluff passed away Wednesday evening, Oct. 27, 2010, at her residence surrounded by her loving family following a short illness.

A time of celebration of Ann's life will be 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff. Online condolences may be left for the family at waterburyfuneralserviceinc.com.

Ann was born Oct. 4, 1948, in Sioux City, the daughter of Robert and Dorothy (Eyer) Towns. She attended Sioux City Central High School, graduating with the class of 1966.

Ann was united in marriage with Ken Routon on Oct. 28, 1977, in Elk Point, S.D. This union was blessed with two wonderful children.

Ann worked for a few years at Sioux City Stationery and at the Sioux City Stockyards. She then became employed at Mid-American Energy in the customer relations department, where she enjoyed her work for 13 years, before her health declined and she retired. Following her retirement, she worked part-time in the office at Waterbury Funeral Service.

Ann enjoyed her puzzle books, reading, watching television, sewing, and spending time with her family and friends.

She will be missed by her family which includes her loving husband of 32 years, Ken of Sergeant Bluff; her son, D.J. Routon of Sergeant Bluff; a daughter, Michelle Adams (Jeff) of Kyle, Texas; her brothers, Tracy Burns (Eve) of Dakota City, and Mike O'Byrne (Barb) of Akron, Iowa; and her sister, Jackie Baldock (Greg) of Sioux City; her two grandchildren, Lexi Rane Adams and Cade Ryden Adams of Kyle, Texas; her uncle, Robert Sullivan; and her wonderful cat, T.C. Clark.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents; her adopted parents, Daniel and Helen Sullivan; and brother, Arthur Burns.
