SIOUX CITY -- Lola Green, 79, of Sioux City died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at her residence.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with the minister of Redeemer Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery, Correctionville, Iowa. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

Lola was born Nov. 11, 1931, in Washta, Iowa, to Abraham and Annabella (Cowell) Green. She attended special education classes at Glenwood State Hospital from 1942 to 1948. She later attended ABE classes. She also attended Siouxland Residential Services.

Lola was a resident of Glenwood State Hospital from 1942 to 1966. She also resided at Courage Homes in 1987 and later a nursing home in Rock Rapids. She resided at the Woodbury County Home until September 1999, when she moved to her current residence on South Maple St.

She was employed for a short time with Siouxland Residential Services cleaning tables.

She was a member of Kiwanis.

Survivors include two sisters, Betty DeBerg and Velma Green, both of Rock Rapids, Iowa; and a brother, Raymond Green of Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Ruby Green who died in 1953.

Lola will be missed by her family, by the Mid-Step staff and friends from Goodwill Industries.
