14 November 2010SIOUX CITY -- Leona M. Wilshire, 97, of Sioux City passed away peacefully on Friday, Nov. 12, 2010, at Westwood Nursing and Rehab Center, where she had lived for the last two and one-half years.
Services will be 9 a.m. Monday at Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff, with the Rev. Martha Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Leona was born on June 28, 1913, in Madison, S.D., the daughter of Peter and Rose (Archer) Sorenson. Leona was married to Clifford Derochie and later married J.B. Wilshire. She lived most of her life in Sioux City, and had later moved to Denver, Colo., until moving back to Iowa.
Leona spent her time making beautiful crafts, playing bingo and she liked to gamble.
Leona is survived by her sons, Ralph Derochie and his wife, Ella and Dennis Derochie and his wife, Ardyce; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her so, Gerald Derochie and daughters, Donna Jean Estergard and Dalyce Derochie.
