SIOUX CITY -- Myrtie M. Longlee, 100, of Sioux City died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010, at a Sioux City nursing home.

Services will be 11 a.m. today at Calvary Lutheran Church, with the Rev. James Travis officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Township Cemetery, Schleswig, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Myrtie was born July 16, 1910, in Charter Oak, Iowa, the daughter of Adam and Minnie (Pilate) Grant.

She was married to Martin Longlee on Aug. 6, 1930, in Soldier, Iowa. He preceded her in death in December 1966. She was employed as a nurse's aide at St. Vincent Hospital for 10 years, after returning to school at the age of 60.

She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, the Dorcas Circle and the Golden Agers. She also was a member of the 500 Club.

Survivors include a daughter, Twila Miller and her husband, David of Lincoln, Calif.; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Gordon Longlee; a daughter, Rita Hollander; three sisters, Laura Gibbs, Rita Henry, and Edith Kraft; and two brothers, Vernon Grant and Everett Grant.
