SIOUX CITY -- Rhoda Marie (Sincebaugh) Tenuta, 47, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, at a local hospital.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Kenny Hsu officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences can be sent to meyerbroschapels.com.

Rhoda, the daughter of Norman and Dorothea (Wolf) Sincebaugh, was born July 9, 1963, in Bismarck, N.D. She graduated from Fargo South High School and attended Moorhead State University before graduating with a bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota. She received her juris doctorate from the University of South Dakota.

Rhoda married Frank Tenuta on Nov. 30, 1985, in Minneapolis. The couple made their home in Sioux City after their marriage. Rhoda was employed as a law clerk by the 3rd Judicial District of Iowa after graduating. She was then an assistant county attorney in the Juvenile Division. She was most recently employed by Iowa Legal Aid as a staff attorney.

Rhoda always enjoyed helping and serving others, especially children. She liked to sew and scrapbook. Her Christian faith was the center of her life. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School and confirmation class well as several other areas of involvement. She was also a member of Siouxland Sewing Guild.

Rhoda is survived by her husband, Frank Tenuta of Sioux City; two daughters, Mikealann Tenuta serving in the U.S. Navy, and Adrianna Tenuta of Sioux City; mother, Dorothea Sincebaugh of Fargo, N.D.; her sister, Rachel (Scott) Wentz and niece, Sarah; her brother, David and nephew, Andrew and nieces, Lauren and Megan Sincebaugh; father-in law, Emil Tenuta; brother-in-law, John (Robin) Scott, niece, Rebecca Reed, grandnephew, Jacob; brother-in-law, Peter Tenuta; and many loving friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Norman Sincebaugh; and brother, Joel Sincebaugh.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church and School.
