SIOUX CITY -- Alicia Javers, 70, of Sioux City passed away Friday, June 11, 2010, at a local hospital following a lengthy illness.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Roger Madden officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Alicia was born March 30, 1940, in Lwow, Poland, the daughter of Peter and Karoline (Stein Lukasz) Zerebecka.

She married Gary Javers in 1969 in Sioux City. He preceded her in death on Dec. 24, 2005.

Alicia loved to fish and spend time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed people and loved to visit and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her children, Chuck M. Spencer of Crofton, Neb., Rhonda Spencer of Sioux City, Carol Parsons of Portland, Ore., and Tina Spencer of Sioux City; sisters, Jan "Jenny" Kiefer of Wynot, Neb., and Donna Carpenter of Dakota City; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister, Irene Conrad of Germany.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Dawdy, Larry Nicolls, Ted Schneiders, Mark Thorson, Nicole Thorson and Don Boggs. Honorary pallbearers will be Tamara Thorson and Ernie Frye.
