SIOUX CITY -- Timothy "Tim" Sohler, 51, of Sioux City, formerly of Norfolk, Neb., passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at the University Medical Center in Iowa City, Iowa.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. James Bruch officiating. Burial of the cremains will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Dow City Cemetery, Dow City, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Sioux City. Timothy Leon Sohler was born on April 23, 1959, to Leon and Rosemary (Gubbels) Sohler in San Diego, Calif. At a young age the family moved to Norfolk, Neb., and Tim attended and graduated from Norfolk High School with the class of 1977. After high school Tim attended Northeast Community College in Norfolk, receiving an associate of arts degree in business. He finished his education at Wayne State College in Wayne, receiving his bachelor of science degree in business. Tim served a four-year enlistment in the U.S. Air Force.

Tim and Susan Ann Robinson of Dow City were married on June 9, 1990. The couple made their home in Sioux City, where Tim went to work for the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier.

Tim enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed music, concerts, movies and the outdoors.

Tim is survived by his twin children, Bryan and Alyssa Sohler; parents, Leon and Rosemary Sohler of Norfolk; brothers, Terry of Fargo, N.D., and Todd and wife, Angie of Ault, Colo., a sister, Rhonda of Lincoln, Neb.; three nieces; four step nieces; one step nephew; one step great-niece; mother and father-in-law, Richard and Barbara Robinson; along with brother-in-law and sisters-in-law.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan; grandparents; uncles and aunts.

Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Sohler, Dan Bach, Randy Leise, Steve Bergman, Tom Burney, Terri Lau, Larry McCaslen, Bernie Juracek and April LaScala.
