Funeral service for Mrs. George McNear, 62, rural Oto, will be at 9:30 Tuesday at the United Church of Christ at Oto. The Rev. George Nothdurft will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Sioux City under the direction of the Walter Funeral Home of Anthon.
Mrs. McNear died Saturday at a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.
She was born Oct. 5, 1906 near Oto and has resided in the Anthon-Oto area her entire life.
She was married to George McNear May 25, 1925, in Sioux City. For the past several years they had farmed six miles northwest of Oto.
Mrs. McNear was a member of the United Church of Christ at Oto, Oto Mite Society, and was a charter member of the Farm Women’s Club of Oto.
Survivors include the widower; two daughters, Mrs. William Alexander of Storm Lake, Iowa, and Mrs. Dale Hayworth of Correctionville; three sons, Wilbur of Mapleton, Iowa, Ronald of Cherokee, Iowa and Gary of Oto; a step-mother, Mrs. Pearl Howard of Oto; a step-sister, Mrs. Alice Arnold of Oto; and 10 grandchildren.
