SIOUX CITY -- Steven David St. Onge, 59, of Sioux City died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010, at the V.A. Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minn., surrounded by his family and friends due to complications from diabetes.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Trimble United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Martha Anderson officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is handling arrangements.

Steve was born April 4, 1951, in Sioux City, the son of Narcisse D. and Colleen C. (Riese) St. Onge. He attended public schools then received his GED while serving with the U.S. Army.

He was married to Kathy Castro in Riverside, Calif. They had one daughter, Stephanie. He had been employed as a welder and was a member of the Sheet Metal Union. He was working as a cab driver for Cabs, Inc. until his sickness forced him to retire in June of this year.

Steve enjoyed boating on the river with his friends and making "Turtles" at Christmastime.

He is survived by his mother, Colleen Andersen of Sioux City; a daughter, Stephanie of California and her two children; the love of his life, Nancy McDonald of Sioux City; three stepbrothers, Matt Andersen of Des Moines, Rick Andersen and David Andersen both of Sioux City; nephews, Matt and Dan St. Onge of Minnesota; numerous friends; and Moggins, his best furry friend.

He was preceded by his father, Narcisse; stepfather, Melvin Andersen; brother, Paul St. Onge; stepbrother, Perry Andersen; and grandparents, Paul and Mildred Riese.
