21 July 2010SIOUX CITY -- Theresa Dykstra, 98, of Sioux City passed away peacefully Sunday, July 18, 2010, at her residence.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. Scott Squires officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.
Theresa was born March 19, 1912, in Orange City, Iowa, the daughter of Ralph and Alice (Cleveringa) Bloemendaal.
She married Cornelius Dykstra on Aug. 31, 1936, in Orange City. He preceded her in death on Dec. 15, 1998, in Sioux City.
Theresa loved to sew, quilt and garden. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church for more than 50 years.
Survivors include her son, Doug Dykstra and his wife, Carolyn of Rogers, Ark.; a daughter, Diann Grillet of Sioux City; six grandchildren, Michele, Kelliann, Cynthia, Benjamin, Michael and Casey; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Rose Dykstra of Orange City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers; and two sisters.
