SIOUX CITY -- Margaret M. Lauritsen, 95, of Sioux City passed away Monday, July 12, 2010, in Sioux City.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Riverside Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Charles Wolff officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to time of service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff.

Margaret Marie Lauritsen was born June 29, 1915, and was a life-time resident of Sioux City. She attended Central High School, graduating in 1933. She worked with her parents in their family owned grocery store on Riverside Boulevard until it closed in 1959. After her parents died, she attended business college and received her degree. She worked for Memorial Park Cemetery as office manager and bookkeeper for 27 years.

She was a life member of Eastern Star and also a member of Quota Club for many years. She was a life-time member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church until it closed. She then transferred her membership to Riverside Lutheran Church. She was the church treasurer at Our Saviors Lutheran for 28 years. Margaret loved to garden and cook. Many people will remember all the good food Margaret prepared both at church and in her home.

She is survived by her dear, dear sister, Ella Lauritsen; cousins, Orla and Inger Tinggaard and Annelise and Mathias Sorensen in Denmark; a cousin, Glen Christensen and his wife, Dolly of Hinton, Iowa; and many friends.
