SIOUX CITY -- Jane Nordstrom, 87, of Sioux City died on Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at a local care facility.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Augustana Lutheran Church in Sioux City, with the Revs. Del L. Olivier and Danny Reed officiating. Interment will follow in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff.

Jane was born March 30, 1923, in Sioux City, the daughter of August and Verna (Johnston) Nordstrom. She was a lifelong resident of Sioux City and worked at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center for more than 40 years.

Jane was a longtime member of Augustana Lutheran Church, where she participated in the church choir and was a member of the ladies circle. Music was an important part of Jane's life, as she also was a longtime member of the Siouxland Master Choral as well as participating in many other musical endeavors in the Sioux City area. She was also a member of the Girls of 68, and Royal Neighbors of America.

Jane will be missed by her family which includes her sister, Dorothy Nordstrom Reed of Lebanon, Tenn.; her stepbrother Paul (Marlys) Nagel of Castana, Iowa; a nephew, Danny (Carolyn) Reed of Nashville, Tenn.; a niece, Helen (Scott) Kasawne of Rockvale, Tenn.; and her very special friend, Linda Nygard.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, P.A. Nagel; a brother-in-law, Ernest Reed; a stepsister, Charlene Rife; and a stepbrother, Alan Nagel.

Memorials may be made to Augustana Lutheran Church in her memory.
