..SOUTH SIOUX CITY -- E. Paul Klingensmith, 87, formerly of Moville, Iowa, died Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moville, with the Rev. Jer Gilbreath officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Township Cemetery, Moville. Graveside rites will be conducted by Wink-Sparks Amreican Legion Post 303. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Arrangements are being handled by Christy-Smith McCulloch Chapel at Moville.

Paul was born July 27, 1922 on the family farm east of Moville, the son of Emery and Flossie (Sadler) Klingensmith. He attended country schools and graduated from Moville High School in 1939. Paul continued his education at National Business Training School in Sioux City.

He married Dorothy Henckel on July 27, 1941. Together they made their home on the farm.

Paul entered the Navy in 1944 and served in the Pacific Theater. He was honorably discharged in 1946.

He farmed in the Moville area all his life. He owned and operated Phillips 66 Tank Service. Paul also raised turkeys from 1966 until 1979 when his health would not allow it.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Moville, a 50-year member of the Wink-Sparks American Legion Post 303 in Moville, an ABu Bekr Shriner, 50-year member of Trial Lodge 532 AF&AM and was a charter member of the Meadows Golf Course.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; three daughters Linda and Ron Masters of Ankeny, Iowa, Julie and Rob Davis of Moville, and Amy and Michael Groth of South Sioux City; a son, Roger and Leah Klingensmith of Moville; 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, a nephew and niece.

He was preceded by his parents and a sister, Vera Flathers.
