SIOUX CITY -- Mildred "Milly" Pylelo, 83, of Sioux City died Monday, June 28, 2010, at Countryside Retirement Center in Sioux City.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Rev. Daniel Guenther will officiate. Burial will be Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with a rosary at 5 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m., at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.

Milly was born in Yankton, S.D., on July 29,1926, the daughter of William A. and Rose (Lammers) Noecker. She lived in the Fordyce and Hartington, Neb., area. She graduated from Trinity High School in Hartington in 1944.

On July 7, 1951, she married Serhey "John" Pylelo in Sioux City. Milly worked at Bekins and taught ballroom dancing at the Evelyn Murray Dance Studio.

She enjoyed working in her yard, walking, sewing and her ballroom dancing.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Serhey; her three children, John and his wife, Bobbie of Sioux City, Christa and Jim Headid of Rapid City, S.D., and Tom Pylelo of Sioux City; six grandchildren, Sara and Carisa Headid, Chad Pylelo, Amanda "Mandy" and her husband, Jon O'Hern, Paul Pylelo and his wife, Joan, Casey Pylelo and his wife, Brandi; six great-grandchildren, Paxton, Sam, Lucy, Luke, Stella O'Hern and Jude Pylelo; a sister, Helen Noecker of Sioux City; sister-in-law, Sally Noecker of Omaha; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Ralph, Ervin and his wives, Beulah and Bonnie, Bill, Art and his wife, Joan; and her father and mother-in-law, Alex and Anna (Kemashike) Pylelo.

A memorial has been established in her name and may be directed to the family.

The Pylelo family would like to thank the medical professionals at the Mercy Medical Center, Mercy Medical Rehabilitation Unit, Countryside Rehabilitation Center and Hospice of Siouxland.
