Marie Mae Huls, 83, Sioux City, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 1990, in a Sioux City hospital of a brief illness.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in St. John Lutheran Church. Rev. Robert E. Edwards, pastor, officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:15 p.m. in Memorial cemetery at Le Mars under direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Mrs. Huls, the former Marie Mae Woomer was born July 31, 1906, in Grinnell. She graduated from Le Mars high school and attended Teachers College in Cedar Falls, la., for three years. She married Peter H. Huls June 16, 1937, in Le Mars. She taught school in rural Plymouth County schools for 10 years. She was a resident of Le Mars before moving to Sioux City. Mrs. Huls was a member of St. John Lutheran church and the Dorcas Circle of the church. She was a member of the Sunshine club of Le Mars.

Survivors include her husband, Peter; a son, Henry James Huls of Sioux City and a daughter, Betty Louise Huls of Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Laura.
