Richard P. Boecher, 60, 5309
U.S. 75, died unexpectedly Monday,
June 13, 1994, at a Sioux
City hospital-emergency room.
Services were held Friday,
June 17, 1994, at Calvary Lutheran
church with the Rev. Gerald
Kapanka officiating. Burial was in
Memorial Park Cemetery with
military graveside rites conducted
by the Offutt Air Force Base
Color Guard. Christy Morningside
Funeral Home was in charge of
arrangements.
Mr. Boecher was born Aug. 25,
1933, in Sioux City.' He was
raised on a farm east of Leeds
and was a lifelong area resident.'
He graduated from Leeds High
School in 1951. On Oct. 14, 1965,
he married Shirley May Nelson in
Walthill, Neb. He worked for
Wincharger, Zenith and Dyna
Tech for 26 1/2 a years; Prince
Hydraulics, four years; Willers
Plastics, five years; Alpine Carpet
Cleaning, two years; the First
Federal Building, two years and
,was. presently working for Fimco
in Sioux City.
Mr. Boecher was a member of
Calvary Lutheran Church and was
a former member of Redeemer
Lutheran Church, where he was a
former Sunday school teacher. He
was a member of Machinists
Union Local 1626. He served in
the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife; a
daughter and her husband, Ricarda
and Stefan Stark of Sioux
City; a son,' Paul Albert Boecher
of Barksdale Air Force Base,
Louisiana; his father, C. Richard
Boecher of Moville, Iowa; two
sisters, Deloris Hoffman of Westfield,
Iowa, and Sandra Roggatz
and her husband, Alvin of Correction
ville, Iowa; seven grandchildren;
and nieces, nephews, great-nieces
and nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by
his mother, Opal.
