28 March 2010SIOUX CITY -- Norman R. Donaldson, 83, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, March 25, 2010, at his residence.
Services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with Pastor Kenny Hsu officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
Norman was born the son of Ralph R. and Ella B. (Benjamin) Donaldson on Dec. 4, 1926, in Sioux City. He attended Cathedral and Trinity Schools. He married Lois V. Knudsen in Onawa, Iowa, in 1954. Norman worked for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad for 34 years. He was a lifelong Sioux City resident.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends. He especially loved his pets that his family brought home throughout the years. He was a very simple man with an enthusiastic sense of life.
Norman is survived by his wife, Lois Donaldson; two daughters, Kathy Donaldson and her children, Nicholas, Christopher and Stephanie Roan; Karen (Bill) Baker and their son, Brett; one son, Jeff (Carmen) Donaldson and their daughter, Brittni, all of Sioux City; two stepbrothers, Duane (Barb) Lund of Allen, Neb., and Doug (Betty) Lund of Kearney, Neb.; one stepsister, Janis (Milton) Emry of Fremont, Neb.; one brother-in-law, Earl; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and beloved grandparents.
Memorials may be made to the Siouxland Humane Society.
