OBITUARY
G. E. SWANSON
Gottfried E. “Guff” Swanson, 62, 510 19th St., died Thursday at a hospital after an illness of two years.
Mr. Swanson was born April 15, 1906, in Sioux City. On Nov. 10, 1928, he married Ethel M. Mitchell. He was a construction superintendent for Holtze Construction Co., where he was employed for more than 40 years.
He was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church, Landmark Lodge 103 AF&AM, Scottish Rite Bodies, Abu Bekr Shrine Temple, Boys of ’68, Scandinavian Societies, the Court Street Gang, and Carpenters Local 948.
Survivors include the widow; three sons, Frank E. of Concord, Calif., and Elmer G. and Donald T., both of Sioux City; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Carlson, of Sioux City and Mrs. Gloria Davidchik of Davenport; four brothers, Henry, Leonard and Clarence, all of Sioux City and Adolph of Compton, Calif.; and six grandchildren.
The body was taken to the Nelson-Berger Northside Funeral Home.
