OCCUPATION: He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. Later he was employed with Sioux City Mosaic Co. for many years and then operated a service station for several. He later was employed as a maintenance engineer with the city of Sioux City at the Convention Center for 14 years.
SURVIVORS: include his wife; two daughters and their husbands, Andrea and Clark Johnson of Sergeant Bluff and Stephanie and Pete Goede, of Egan, Minn.; a son and his wife, Mark and Bobbi Engle of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three stepsons and their wives; three brothers and their wives, Bill and Bette of Kalispell, Mont., Paul and Delores and Bruce and Dona, all of Sioux City; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
PRECEDED in DEATH by: his parents; a sister, Joan Whelton; and a brother-in-law, Jack Whelton.
PLACE of BURIAL: Burial of the cremains will be in McCook Cemetery at a later date.
