IOWA NEWS CONDENSED
It is said that Kid Gallagher and Alex Chapin are the parties who killed Max Noack and Ora Minter in a bagnio in Sioux City three months ago. The two men were sentenced a few days ago to fifteen years each at Papillion, Neb., for a murderous assault committed a year ago, and then pleaded guilty there, hoping to get off with lighter sentences. When they were sentenced it was admitted in Sioux City that the authorities had a confession in which the crime was detailed. Noack was killed after he was robbed because he resisted, and then the girl was killed to keep from telling of the crime. Gallagher and Chapin were in the city bit a short time, but were engaged in robbery. An officer had been at Papillion trying to get the authorities to give them up, which would have been done. Their pal, Vic McCarthy, who escaped from the Omaha jail a few nights ago, was not with them at Sioux City, but was the leader in the assault at Papillion.
