George Lewis Whitmarsh
He was born December 1, 1836 in New Hampshire and died July 15, 1901 in Sioux City, Woodbury, Iowa. He was married first to Amanda M. Whitmarsh (b. 1842 in Vermont) and she died between 1870 and 1880. Then he married Helen Whitmarsh (b. 1850). He had two children, Cora Whitmarsh Ralya and Edna Whitmarsh.

On the census, he lived in 1856 in Denmark, Lee, Iowa and 1860 he was in Burlington, Des Moines, Iowa. Then he fought in the Civil War for Iowa. In 1870 he lived in Waterloo, Black Hawk, Iowa and 1880 he was in South Dakota. His daughter, Cora, and her husband, John Ralya, were living in Sioux City, Iowa in 1900 and I believe that George was living with them when he died.
