Mary Wortman married John Thatcher in June 1834 and they had one daughter, Marilyn, born November 1936.

Marilyn graduated from East High School in Sioux City and then married Wendell Stoneking. They have five children: Loralynn born July 1957; Pamela born January 1959; Richard born November 1960; William born November 1962; and Amy born January 1976. They all live in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Marilyn and Wendell are divorced. Marilyn works for the Carpenter Paper Company. Loralynn was married to Lynn Bourland and they have three boys: Todd born April 1977; Travis born March 1979; and Trent born January 1982. Loralynn is divorced and she works for Carpenter Paper Company. Pamela is married to Chester Cox. They have one daughter, Rachelle, born November, 1980. Pamela works for a bank and Chester is in the United States Army. Richard works for Timpte Trailor Company. William works on construction. Amy is in grade school.

John and Mary moved to Alamo, Texas after retirement. John passed away February 1982. Mary continues to live in Alamo.
