Ora and Pearl Ping

Ora and Pearl Ping came to the Bronson Community and rented an insurance company farm in 1929. They had originally farmed in the Hawarden, Iowa area and Butte, Nebraska sand hills country. Their children: Earl was born at Sloan, Iowa; Elmer was born at Hawarden, Iowa; and Velma, Marvin, and Maybelle at Butte, Nebraska. Maybelle died of diphtheria in the fall of 1928. Everett was born February 28, 1932 at Bronson. They farmed until 1938 and lived in and around Bronson until 1941, when they moved to Raymond, Washington, where son, Elmer, was in logging business. Ora, too became a logger. Ora died in Washington, January 1961, Pearl lived many years in Washington, but returned in 1981 to make her home in Bronson near to her daughter, Velma Rasmussen.
