Ole B Olson was born in Cambridge, Wisconsin, in 1851; he married Anna Fosse, 1873. She was born in Hardanger, Norway in 1852 and came to America in 1869 with her parents. The trip by sailboat took seven weeks to cross the ocean. Mr Olson was a brick mason and shoemaker. He constructed some kilns at the Sergeant Bluff brickyard. They came to Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, in 1886 where they built a home and raised four children. Ole B Olson died 1925, Anna Olson died 1932.

Clara died in her teens.

Everett, foreman at the brickyard, Riverside, Sioux City, Iowa, never married. He is now deceased.

Mary married Robert Bates, and lived on their farm, Sergeant Bluff, Iowa. They had two children. A son, Clifford, attended school there; moved to Sioux City where three children were born; Robert, William and Jacquelin. Clifford was farming the Bates home place when he died in 1960. A daughter, Elvera, graduated from Sergeant Bluff High School, and took a business course in Sioux City. She married Floyd Ertel, lived in Montana, Idaho, and has a son, Floyd, and three grandchildren in Sacramento, California. Floyd Ertel is deceased. Elvera married Fred Sherrod, lives in Boise, Idaho.
Arthur Olson graduated form Sergeant Bluff High School. He married Augusta Lee Gunderson and lived out his life in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa. Gusta Lee traveled to America from Christiansun, Norway, at the age of fourteen to live with her uncle Aaron and Aunt Julie Gunderson, taking their name. Arthur worked for the Post Office driving a horse and buggy, later a Model T Ford, to deliver mail at the turn of the century. He became a railroad telegrapher in 1906; served as Town Clerk in Sergeant Bluff at one time; operated a grocery store in partnership with Ed Mattocks and worked at Farmers Elevator later years. Arthur Olson died in 1949, Gusta Olson died in 1963. They had two children.
Marion was born 1911 and Arthur Gene was born 1915. Both graduated from Sergeant Bluff High School. Marion attended Morningside College, taught school in Wall Lake, Iowa for three years. She married Howard Baker in 1933 and lived on the farm north of Sergeant Bluff. They are parents of seven children. One died in infancy in 1935. John was born 1937, Elaine born 1939, Carolyn born 1943, Elbert born 1946, Virginia born 1947 and Charles born 1952; all are Sergeant Bluff High School graduates. Arthur Gene Olson was born in Sergeant Bluff in 1915. He served in the Army in World War II training as an Electrician. Returning to civilian life he was employed at the Sioux City Airbase. He married Frances Ward in 1941. They have a son, Ward, born 1943, and a daughter, Janice, born 1946. The family moved to Larimore, North Dakota, when Arthur became Electrical Supervisor at the Grand Forks Airbase. Ward graduated form Larimore High School, served in the Navy and graduated from North Dakota University, Grand Forks. His present address is Reno, Nevada where he is a supervisor at Harrahs Casino.
Janice graduated Larimore High School and from Nurses Training, Whapeton, North Dakota. She is now employed at Northwood Hospital, North Dakota, and lives in Larimore.
