Elsie Irene Benedix was born near Pierson on June 22, 1892 and at this writing is 91 years. She was born to Frederick William Benedix, April 23, 1844, and Christina Jensen, February 23, 1848.

William Frederick Hoppe, March 25, 1887 – July 9, 1957, was born to Wilhelm Hoppe, November 1854 in Germany, and Louisa, February 1959 in Germany.

Elsie and William ‘Willie’ were married February 26, 1913.

Three children were born to them, the oldest, Lorenz, passing away at the age of four months. Soon after they were married, they moved on a farm south of Pierson where they lived until moving to a farm north of Correctionville in 1936.

The second child, Alice Elaine, was born August 5, 1917, and married John Harvey Warner, July 29, 1917, on March 16, 1940 at Salem Lutheran Church. Three children were born, Joel on May 23, 1942, Greg and Sally.

The third child, Melvin Frederick Hoppe, September 3, 1919, married Marjorie Ellen Utesch on March 15, 1941. Four children were born, Sonya Marlene, July 29, 1942, Ellen Dee, November 23, 1943, Susan Christine, February 17, 1953; and Ken Frederick, May 3, 1958.
