Edward Max Honke, M.D., 1909-1968, was the son of Max L Honke and Stella Maynard Honke, Butte, Nebraska. A graduate of Creighton University Medical School and the University of Pennsylvania Post-graduate in Urology in 1938. Dr Honke practiced Urology in Sioux City, with the exception of four years when he served as Lt Col. In the U S Army during World War II. He was Chief of Urology in Torney General Hospital in California.

In 1936 he married Ava Clare Donohue, born 1911, daughter of Patrick Donohue and Anna M Donahue, Bonesteel, South Dakota. Ava was graduated from Creighton University in 1932 and taught high school in this community.

Dr and Mrs Honke had two children. Marion C (Honke) Rush (Mrs Charles M), born 1948, lives in Lake Bluff, Illinois, and is the mother of one son, Charles M Rush, III. Edward Max Honke, Jr, born 1950, has three children: Amy, Angela and Renee. He lives in Sioux City, Iowa.
