Harry Clinton Heath was born July 24, 1889, in Woodbury County, Iowa, son of Walter Pettit and Idella Chase Heath. He lived most of his life in Bronson, Iowa, where he played on the town baseball team in his youth and played his violin for dances in the community.

In 1917 or 1918, he married Maude Cochran and they lived on a farm east of Bronson. Twin daughters were born to them in January 1919, Mildred and Marie. When the girls were quite young their parents were divorced and they were raised by their mother in Seattle, Washington. Maude died in 1983 in Oregon. Mildred married Oliver A Schulz and they have four daughters: Nancy, Carolyn, Marilyn and Priscilla. Marie married Douglas Balir and they had two daughters and two sons: Robin Sue, David, Douglas, Jr, and Patty. Marie died in 1957.

For many years Harry worked for Dr Glann in Bronson as bookkeeper and driver, and he also served as substitute rural mail carrier. He was a member of Tyrian Lodge AF&AM and the Sioux City Consistory.

In 1933, he married Mabel Hankins, a teacher in the Bronson School. He worked in his later years as a carpenter. He died August 28, 1948. Mabel was a native of Arispie, Iowa, daughter of Mr and Mrs A T Hankins. After Harry’s death she returned to southern Iowa and lived there with her brothers and sisters in Shannon City. She died January 21, 1980. She and Harry are buried in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City, Iowa.
