George P Mather, March 6, 1898-June 1, 1954, graduated from Sergeant Bluff High School and took a business course before starting to farm. He married Georgia McQuatters in 1928 and had three sons and one daughter: George ‘Ward’, Frank, Dan and Nancy. He farmed until 1946 when he sold the farm and purchased an acreage near Sergeant Bluff. He then worked for the Farmers’ Elevator. He was a stockholder in the Farmers’ Elevator and served many years on the school board. He was also vice-president of the Old Settler’s Association.

George Ward, June 13, 1930-September 3, 1981, graduated from Sergeant Bluff High School in 1948 and entered the U S Navy where he served for twenty-two years. He was on the U S S Triton many of those years and was on it when it became the first vessel to complete a circumnavigation of the globe under water. He was married to Louise Andro in 1951 and have five daughters: Paula, Dianne, Roxanne, Roseanne, and Dawn. He was divorced from Louise and later married Ruth Scannel in 1963. They had three sons: Michael in college and Dan and Jim at home in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Upon retiring form the Navy as a Master Chief Petty Officer, Ward worked for the Civil Service at Norfolk, Virginia.

Frank, August 9, 1933- ) graduated from Sergeant Bluff in 1951. He joined the Army and served for two years. He married Marilyn Hansen in 1956 and they have four children: Lance, Kim, Kelly and Shawn. Lance is married to Joyce Bastian, 1983. He works for Sloan Valve Company and lives in Elgin, Illinois. Kim is married to J Greene, 1980. They have a daughter, Sarah, and live in Carol Stream, Illinois. Kelly works for Unit School District 200 in Wheaton and lives in Glen Dale Heights, Illinois. Shawn is a senior at Glenbard South High School and lives at home in Lombard, Illinois. Frank worked as a Casualty Claims Supervisor at Aetna Insurance Company and is now retired.

Dan, April, 1, 1939- ) is a graduated of Sergeant Bluff High School and Morningside College. He married Rose Mary Stubblefield in 1962 and has two boys: Darin a junior and Dell a freshman at Yankton High School. He is a salesman for Triangle School Service to Sioux Falls and lives in Yankton, South Dakota.

Nancy, August 9, 1948- ) went to live with her brother, Frank, when their mother died in 1963. She graduated from Glenbard East in 1966. She attended Oklahoma City University and graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma at Weatherford. She married Wayne Cunningham in 1968 and they have tow daughters: Christa in school and Susan at home in Cordell, Oklahoma.
