Chris Krogh came from Denmark in 1880. He worked at Minden, Nebraska, for two years, then came to Sioux City, Iowa, and later to Sergeant Bluff, Iowa. He married Emma Brower and they lived on the Brower farm south of Sergeant Bluff. They had three children: Eva, Lewis and Clifford.

Eva married William Clark of Utica, New York, and settled in Winlick, Washington. They had one daughter, Louise. Louise married Everett Blaisdell and of this marriage four children were born: Robert, Raymond, Ruby and Richard.

Clifford Krogh married Mae Blecker of Sioux City, Iowa. Their children are: Betty Kiser, now living in Scottsdale, Arizona, has three children: Eleanor Hestle (deceased) has one daughter living in Phoenix, Arizona; Alvin Krogh lives in Texas.

Lewis Krogh, 1889-1956, married Sadie Roehlk, 1893-1966, of Laurens, Iowa. They raised five children on the old home place ‘Brower Farm’ just south of town. They are: Max, Donald, Kenneth, Darrell and Lois.

Max was born in 1914 and married Helen Dennis of Coleridge, Nebraska. They now farm in the settlement southwest of Sergeant Bluff, known as Weedland. They have three children: Dennis, Jean and Martha.

Dennis married Sharon Prien of Pierson. They now live on the site of the original Brower Farm south of Sergeant Bluff. Dennis and Sharon have two children: Brenda and Brian.

Jean married Ward Mangum of Tropic, Utah. Jean is a realtor, and Ward manages the Shell Station in St George, Utah. They have two daughters: Shelley and Sherri.

Martha is married to Donald Tank of Blencoe, Iowa. Don is a farmer and Martha is an X-ray tech at the Carl T Curtis Health Center in Macy, Nebraska. They have one daughter, Krista.

Donald Krogh married Rose Kanaly of LeMars, Iowa. They farm south of Sergeant Bluff.

Kenneth Krogh married Pauline Hess of Charles City, Iowa. Ken is retired from the USDA and lives in Alexandria, Virginia. They have three children: Kris and Keith in California, and Karen (Mrs Craig Caupp) of Logan, Utah.

Darrell and his wife, Katie, live in Phoenix, Arizona. Darrell is area supervisor for Church’s Fried Chicken. Darrell has three children: Barbara, of Chicago, Illinois; Cheryl, of Dallas, Texas; and John, of Odessa, Texas.

Lois married Marston Dodge and they reside in Kalamazoo, Michigan. They had two children: Diana and Marlo. Lois was a piano and organ instructor at Western Michigan University. Lois died at the age of 42.

There has always been a lot of love, tears, hardship and work throughout the years for the Krogh family, but we all enjoy coming back to Sergeant Bluff and being a family together.
