Jens T and Christina Iverson

1866-1869, three brothers, Peter, Nels and Jens Iverson, 1840-1922, with his wife, Christina, 1845-1898, came from Langland, Denmark.

For a while Jens worked at the Holman brick yard and later purchased a farm in the Brown’s Lake area. There Christina and Jens lived in a log cablin, and there their six children were born: Mary, Julia, Anna, Sarah, Martha and Peter. In 1889, real job came; Mr. Iverson bought another farm in the same area and built a house with eight rooms. After his death in 1922, the farm was sold to Mr and Mrs Elmer Olson, it is now owned by Mrs Louise Olson Mann and her son, Mike J Kobold.

The Iverson family:

Mary, Mrs George Hanson, Dakota City, Nebraska, had the following children: Andrew, Haven, Homer, Ida and Harold, all deceased; Marie, a retired surgical nurse, at Veterans Hospital, Hot Springs, South Dakota; and Edwin, a retired farmer, South Sioux City, Nebraska, with three children, Robert, deceased in action World War II; Harold, Sioux City, Iowa; and Ardith, Pinconning, Michigan.

Julia, Mrs Chris Nelson, Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, had one son, Mervin, now deceased.

Anna, Mrs John Larson, Sergeant Bluff, had four children: Ernest, Elmer, Lila, and Peter, deceased.

Sarah, Mrs Nels Krogh, South Sioux City, had two children: Ervin, a retired businessman, Coast to Coast, South Sioux City, with a son, Gordon, South Sioux; and Eva, retired Commercial teacher, South Sioux City.

Martha, Mrs Nels Hanson, Sloan and Salix, Iowa, had three children: Alice, farmer, Salix, with son, Dennis, Mankato, Minnesota, and daughter, Marilyn, Salix; Anna, Reno, Nevada; and Lawrence, retired Conservationist, Sloan.

Peter married Agnes Roan, Sergeant Bluff. Their children are: Gladys and Dale, deceased; Jens T, Sioux City; Ruble, Salix; and Peter, Sioux Ctiy.
