Fey Family

Louie Ludwig Fey was born December 18, 1884, at Wheatland, Iowa. He was the son of Henry Fey and Elizabeth Luckel Fey. Both parents came from Germany at an early age. They were married in the United States. To his marriage, thirteen children were born: Henry, Louie, George, Bill, Phillip, Elizabeth, Lena, Albert, Frank, Amelia, Florentina, John and Alma. All of the children were born and raised on the same family farm. The mother and father remained theire until their death.

Louie Ludwig Fey at the age of twenty came to Woodbury County, along with several brothers.

December 4, 1912, he married Grace Geneva Jones. She was born, July 4, 1894, daughter of Franklin Harrison Jones and Margaret Jane McGinty (Roark) Jones.

Louie and Grace farmed in Woodbury County all their married life, except one year, when they lived at Conova, South Dakota. They retired from farming in 1945-5=46, and moved into Anthon where they lived until their deaths. Grace died August 21, 1972; and Louie died Janaury 24, 1973.

To this marriage five children were born all in Woodbury County: Marguerite Elizabeth, March 9, 1913; Arnold Frank, May 8, 1915; Mae Maurene, March 5, 1917; Frank DeRue, June29, 1919; Paul Maynard, March 27, 1922.

Marguerite married Walter ‘Jake’Kobs, June 25, 1941, at Anthon, Iowa. Jake passed away, June 6, 1972. To this marriage were born Paulette Francis and Darrell Edward. Paulette Kobs married Robert Streeter, March 19, 1966, at Jefferson, South Dakota. They have three sons, Terry Dean Streeter, Darian William Streeter and Kyle Robert Streeter. Darrell Kobs married Julie Snyder, April 25, 1968 at Maryville, Missouri. They have two chidlren: Danyel Lee Kobs and Jonathan William Kobs. Darrell and Julie were divorced. Darrell married Sheila June, December 1, 1978, at Elk Point, South Dakota.

Arnold Frank Fey married and has tow sons: Robert ‘Rocky’ Paul born October 20, 1953; and Richard ‘Ricky’ Arnold, September 20, 1957.

Mae Maurene Fey married Frances Eugene Lewis, son of Sally and Jody Lewis, of Anthon, Iowa, September 7, 1940, at Anthon, Iowa. Divorced 1949. They have one daughter, Constance Maurene Lewis. She married Charles Edward Ashley, January 15, 1961, at Anthon, Iowa. To this marriage were born: Joanne Lynne Ashley, August 4, 1961; Timothy Mark Ashley, born April 28, 1963; and Thomas Kent Ashley, January 12, 1967. Constance Maurene was born August 20, 1943.

Joanne Lynne married Alan Wade Reimert, April 8, 1983, Elk Point, South Dakota. They have one daughter, Brittany Rose, born July 23, 1983.

Mae Maurene Fey Lewis married George Lewis Sargent, son of Lewis and Minnie Sargent, April 19, 1952, at LeMars, Iowa. To this marriage, four daughters were born: Kathy Mae Sargent, born April 16, 1953; Karyl Jahn Sarbent, born June 24, 1954; Kristin Lou Sargent, born July 27, 1955; and Keri Lynne Sargent, born August 26, 1957.

Kathy Mae Sargent married John Hodgdon, Anthon, Iowa, May 29, 1971. To this marriage, two children were born: James Allen Hodgdon, September 24, 1971; and Erin Michelle Hodgdon, July 29, 1978.

Karyl Jahn Sargent married Ronald Scott Lyon, December 15, 1973, at Anthon, Iowa. To this marriage, two daughters were born: Jody Lee Lyon, born November 12, 1971; and Jenny Lynn, born October 6, 1976.

Kristin Lou Sargent, no married, is an elementary teacher and coach.

Keri Lynne Sargent married Gary Kranz, December 12, 1975, at Anthon, Iowa. They have two children: Kalie Lynne, born January 13, 1979; and Joshua Craig, born October 25, 1980.

Frank DeRue Fey married Vesta Alma Hammer, September 18, 1941, at Cushing, Iowa. They have three sons: Earl Maynard Fey, born October 1, 1942; Alan R Fey, born January 11, 1946; and Dennis D Fey, born August 5, 1947. Earl Maynard Fey married Vivian Springer, January 4, 1964. They have two children, Darren Earl Fey, born November 9, 1968; and Suzanne Marie Fey, born July 23, 1971. Alan R Fey married Lynette Kreutz, May 23, 1970. They have two children: Tracy Renae, born November 3, 1970; and Shelly Lynn, born November 26, 1975. Dennis D Fey married Linda Tracy, April 29, 1978. They have two chidlren: Michael DeRue Fey born March 6, 1979; and Jennifer Marie Fey, born August 4, 1980.

Paul Maynard Fey married Mable Leona Burns, June 29, 1946. They have one son, adopted at infancy, Victor Ludwig Fey, born January 15, 1956. Victor Ludwig Fey married Donita Kay Patterson, October 15, 1974. They have two daughters: Kassandra Saint Fey, born December 19, 1975; and Holley Nanette Fey, born July 5, 1979.
