Reverend John Gray and wife, Jane, Came to Sergeant Bluff from England via Nova Scotia and Illinois. He was a Minister in the Congregational Church in the 1890’s. They had thirteen children, two of whom settled in Sergeant Bluff: Susan married Frank Baker and spent her life there, and Rollen also remained in Sergeant Bluff.

Rollen Gray married Mabel Holman, daughter of A M Holman, in 1898 and they had five children, born in Sergeant Bluff: Albert, Elizabeth, Webster, John and Emily.

Roll had a drug store in Sergeant Bluff from 1904 until 1911, when he sold out and started farming on some of the land west of town which is now part of the airport.

Albert Gray farmed with his father until the land was taken for the Air Base. He also worked for the Farmers Elevator from 1934 until June 1942. On July first 1942, he became Postmaster in Sergeant Bluff and held that position until retirement on March 31, 1970.

Albert married Florence Menard, daughter of George and Maria Menard, in 1935. They have four children: Albert H, Jr, Maria, Julie and Stephen.

Marie is liviing in Sergeant Bluff. She married Otis M Baker, III. They have five chidlren: Jody Baker Wax, Christopher, Karen, Timothy and Susan.
