Don and Jane Byerley

Donald Carl Byerley was born March 3, 1943, at Sioux City, Woodbury County, Iowa. He is the son of Carl Jacob Byerley and Zelma Mae Baker.

Carl was born April 22, 1903, at Rosdale, Kansas. Zelma was born October 16, 1902, at Moville, Iowa, and died December 2, 1975, at Sioux City, Iowa. The couple was married on March 26, 1930, at Moville, Iowa.

Don graduated from Washta High School in 1961 and graduated from Nettleton Business Training in Sioux City and is currently employed at IPS in Sioux City. Don has completed his Bachelor’s of Applied Science Degree form Westmar College in LeMars, Iowa.

Don married Jane Ardice Boyd on June 6, 1970, at the First Methodist Church in Sioux City. Jane was born March 7, 1947, in Sioux City, Iowa. She is the daughter of Arthur James Boyd, Jr and Helen Maxine Dreas.

Jane is a 1965 graduate of South Sioux City Community High School and a 1966 graduate of Nettleton Business Training School in Sioux City.

After their marriage, Jane and Don resided in Sioux City until December 4, 1971. When their home was built, the couple moved to South Sioux City where they have resided since. Their home was built by her father. Her entire family helped in the finishing of the home, painting, cleaning and washing windows, etc.

Don is a member of the Sioux City Jaycees and is a past president. Jane is a genealogist and is interested in ceramics and doing crafts.
