Funeral service for Sally Jo Meyer were held Sunday, November 6, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. in the Zion Lutheran Church at Castalia, Iowa. The Reverend Dave Lenth officiated. Marlys Hager was the organist. Casket Bearers were: Pat Dougherty, David Dougherty, Don "Jr." Haberkorn, Terry Johnson, Jason White, Brian Livingood, Larry Plaht, Randy Plaht. Burial was in Pleasant View Cemetery at Castalia. The Schutte Funeral and Cremation Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements.

Sally Jo Meyer was born December 1, 1967, at Postville, Iowa, to Roland Elmer Meyer and Marilyn Claudette (Bray) Meyer. Sally passed away Thursday, November 3, 2005, in the Gundersen Lutheran Clinic at LaCrosse, Wisconsin, at the age of 37 years, 11 months, and two days.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Zion Lutheran Church at Castalia. Sally graduated from Postville High School and attended Hawkeye Tech in Waterloo, Iowa for two years.

Sally was a gifted artist and loved to draw. Her talent extended to needlepoint and photography as well. She enjoyed putting puzzles together and going fishing. Sally loved animals too, especially her dog, Sunshine.

She is survived by her special friend, Terrie "Trixie" Leuchtenmacher, and family, Tara and KC, her mother, Marilyn Meyer, Castalia, her father, Roland Meyer, rural, Postville, a sister, Deborah (Floyd) Schmitt, two brothers, Don (Angie) Ellis, all of Castalia, and Scott (Kimberly) Ellis, Monona, IA, and many nieces and nephews.
