Gerald "Jerry" Paul Herold, 86, of North Liberty died Monday, June 8, 2026.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 12, 2026 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Coralville. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, prior to the service.

A graveside committal with military honors will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at St. John Cemetery in Fort Atkinson, Iowa.

Jerry was born November 29, 1939 in Fort Atkinson, the son of Paul and Theresa (Korzendorfer) Herold. He volunteered to serve two years in the U.S. Army. One year of that was between the Arctic Circle and the North Pole.

Jerry married Audrey Hageman of Festina, Iowa on May 19, 1962.

Jerry is survived by his wife and four sons, Joseph of Urbandale, IA, Robert (Lori) of Brimfield, IL, David of Coralville, IA, and Kenneth (Brandee) of Fort Worth, TX; grandchildren, Thomas and Benjamin (Caitlyn), and great grandson, Solomon; siblings, his brother Jack (Ann) Herold of Fort Atkinson and his sister, Mary Phillips of Spillville; brother-in-law, Donald (Margie) Hageman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, James (Patsy) and brothers-in-law, Merlyn Phillips, and Leonard (Marilyn) Hageman.
