The following obituary was handed in for publication following an illness of three weeks. William Wallace Clark, who for twenty-six years has been a resident of this city, passed away at his home, 1341 North Jefferson avenue at 4:00 o’clock this morning, death being due to heart disease. The deceased retired from farm work several years ago and since that time had been making his home in this city. He was born in Chatauqua county, New York, June 10, 1834 and died at Mason City, Iowa, Apr. 28, 1917, in his eighty-third year. He is survived by one daughter Miss Ida May Clark, who has made her home with the deceased for several years, two sisters. Mrs. W. B. Pierce of Harlan, Iowa, and Mrs. A. M. Pennington of East Orange, New Jersey, two brothers, A. B. Clark of Castalia, Iowa, and R. Clark of Minneapolis, Minn. Burial will take place at Castalia. The funeral was held from the U. B. church here the Rev. Hollingshead officiating. The body was interred in the Bloomfield cemetery.
