Asa W. Clark, living near Brush Creek, was killed while sinking a large stone in his field. He was digging under it when it gave way and fell on him.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born Jan. 8, 1824 and died Apr. 22, 1867. He is buried in the Reed Cemetery in Clayton County, IA.
