Matilda Ann Burrows, daughter of Robert and Rebecca Burrows, was born October 3, 1860, in Bluffton township, and died at her home in Canoe township, February 14, 1917, aged 56 years, four months and eleven days. On June 27, 1886, she was married to James Douglass. To them were born three children, Fred W., Katherine and Almeda, who with the husband mourn a loving wife and mother. At 16 years of age she was baptized by Eld. J. Ridley and united with the A. C. church of Burr Oak, of which she remained a faithful member unto death. Her greatest pleasure in life was in doing kind deeds for others and carrying flowers to the sick. A host of friends mourn her loss for she was beloved by all who knew her. Funeral services were held Sunday from the A. C. church conducted by Rev C. H. Sweet.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows her name spelled Douglas. She is buried in the Burr Oak Cemetery.
