Death of Former Ossian Lad.

Acquaintances of M. J. Kavanaugh, cashier of the Farmers’ State Bank at New Albin, were grieved to hear of his sudden death Sunday, which is said to have been caused from ptomaine poisoning due to eating some sausage a few days before. He was taken ill at the bank Saturday and his illness was so severe that he was unable to be moved from the building. He was a single man 37 years of age.

Several from this vicinity attended the funeral of Morris Cavanaugh last Wednesday

On Wednesday morning at ten o’clock at St. Francis church, Rev. ThIltgen officiating, occurred the funeral of M. J. Cavanaugh. The deceased was taken suddenly and coming to one in the prime of life was a blow to the bereaved relatives and friends. Mr. Cavanaugh was cashier of the New Albin Farmers’ Savings bank for the past seven years, which position he creditably filled to the time of his demise on Sunday, Feb. 4, at ten o’clock a. m. The bereaved have the sympathy of all who knew him in their sorrow.
