Harold S McKinney, 61, formerly of Decorah and now living in Harmony, Minn, died Tuesday, April 8, at the Veteran's hospital in Minneapolis after being ill for several years. Death was attributed to emphya (sic).
Funeral services were held Saturday April 12, at 1:30 at the McKinney residence in Harmony and at 2 o'clock at the Harmony M. E. church. Burial was in the Phelps cemetery in Decorah.
Mr. McKinney was born in June 1890 at Canton, Minn., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E McKinney, both deceased. At an early age he moved to Decorah with his parents where his father operated the pump and windmill company for several years. He received his education at Decorah high school and attended Luther college.
In 1928 he married Nelle Francher in Alabama. They became the parents of two sons and a daughter, James and Mrs. Alfred Soma both of Harmony, and Mark who lives in Los Angeles. Before his illness, Mr. McKinney operated a garage in Harmony.
Besides his wife and grandchildren he is survived by three grandchildren and two brothers, Clair McKinney Rockford, ILL, and Vern McKinney last known address, Des Moines.
